Mrs. Alix Boyd-Knights, Speaker of the House of AssemblySpeaker of the House of Assembly Alix Boyd-Knights has called on persons conducting various post Hurricane Maria jobs to be careful and responsible. Referring to the situation which occurred at the Parliament Building following the hurricane, the speaker said, “The person who came to put the tarpaulin on thought it best to use staplers unknown to use we didn’t go on top of the roof…the next wind and rain, boom, the tarpaulins went flying and when we went upstairs now we found out that the roof was not properly attended too.”She explained that she too lost her roof however the tarpaulin was placed using strips of wood during an interview with Vibes Radio last week. The Parliament Building she said had just received certification to receive electricity before the tarpaulins went flying with the winds adding that someone could have lost their life due to the man’s carelessness. Mrs. Knights went on the advice persons to be more responsible in their actions while working. “People have to take responsibility for the jobs they are doing. If you’re working for government for goodness sake do the job in a commissionable manner. If I had to inflict something on Dominicans generally it would be to give everybody a dose of conscience because I think a lot of times that is lacking, lack of ability to consider look “I have to do this thing it doesn’t matter I am going to do it to the best of my ability regardless of the circumstances that confront me”,” she said. 268 Views   no discussionslast_img
