first_img Darryl McGhee (Photo by John Blackie) Share Argos Top Wolves in Final Seconds, 80-79center_img CARROLLTON, Ga. — The Argos had four players in double-digits in an 80-79 victory that came down to the final 10 seconds on Thursday evening. West Florida’s leading scorer, Daryl McGhee(Defuniak Springs, Fla./Gulf Coast CC), had a season-high 22 points  on the game, while Josh Jackson (Madison, Wis./Palm Beach CC)  followed with 17. Chris Brown (Tallahasee, Fla./SC Aiken)  totaled 13, followed by Charles Bouie (Pahokee, Fla./Indian River CC) with 10 in the win.McGhee was 9-15 from the floor, and 4-5 from the free throw line. Both Brown and Josh Jackson shot for 50 percent from three point range, both 3-6. McGhee, Brown, and Kenny Holmes (Slidell, La./Faulkner State CC)  scattered six rebounds each, followed by Bouie with five.As a team, shot 47.4 percent from the floor and 46.7 percent from beyond the arc. The Argos capitalized for 11 second-chance points, but were topped in rebounds by the Wolves, 40-37. The Argos dominated the first half of play, scoring 49 points before the intermission.  West Florida took lead early, and only suffered two lead changes in the half. McGhee scored the first two, and drained 16 points in the first half alone.The second half, however, was a different story. The Wolves went on a nine-point run that reduced the Argo lead to eight with just over 11 minutes left. Four consecutive points from the Wolves’ Gavin Field tied the score at 62 with 8:15 remaining. The last minutes were back and forth, and West Georgia gained a one point lead with 22 seconds on the clock. A two-point shot from Josh Jackson sealed the victory for the Argos with just four seconds remaining.West Florida will be back in action Saturday afternoon at 3pm in Florence, Alabama.
