QUALIFICATIONS:UMGC is seeking professionals who can combine academiccredentials and teaching experience with travel savvy, enthusiasmfor educating our troops, and a passion for adventure. Allpositions require a minimum of a master’s degree from a regionallyaccredited U.S institution with a doctorate preferred and recentcollege-level teaching experience. Preference alsowill be given to candidates with teaching approvals and experiencein more than one discipline. Although these positions arefor on-site teaching, each on-site class has an embedded onlineclassroom where some course activities are conducted, and thecourse materials are located. Faculty are required to adhere to UMGC’s Code of Civility andMUST demonstrate professionalism, respect, and ability to work withstudents, staff, fellow faculty, and others associated with themilitary overseas environment, including members of the localcommunity. Additionally, faculty MUST demonstrate classroomperformance that is conducive to the following: Psychology Mathematics & StatisticsHistory and GovernmentMaster of Business Administration Faculty selected for these one-year positions will teach aminimum of two class sections a session in on-base educationcenters in UMGC’s unique 7 or 8-week, 6-session academic calendar.With few exceptions, faculty will live off-base and commute by carto their classes. Faculty may be asked to travel or relocate withintheir region as needed. Full-privilege, base access cards willallow utilization of on-base gyms, commissaries, gas stations,convenience stores, shopping facilities (PX, BX or NEX), banks,libraries, travel/tour agencies, and post offices. Facultymembers are required to be flexible/committed to teaching in anyclassroom modality (face-to-face, hybrid, online, and livestreaming). Overseas Collegiate Faculty are Collegiate Faculty who teach atOverseas locations as assigned by UMGC. At the request of theUniversity, Overseas Collegiate Faculty members are subject togeographical assignment at all locations within their assignedregion of UMGC Europe, UMGC Asia, or UMGC Downrange, and arerequired to relocate to new geographical areas within the facultymember’s assigned region throughout the appointment period.
